Welcome congo181
« on: October 01, 2013, 11:39:23 pm »
Hello  ;D

Welcome to CacheWalker , congo181  ;D

This is the online home to a group of cachers who prefer caching by byway, not highway! We discuss Geocaching topics daily, share walking routes, and a whole lot more! We're not particularly a regional forum, but most of our members are based in the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire/Warwickshire area, and we often hold events in that region too - we'd love to meet you at one!  :)

Feel free to contact a member of our forum team for help, or just post any questions you may have...

Enjoy  ;D

Hello to the group!

I am not new to geocaching (having racked up 800 finds now) but have recently moved to the area and thought i'd join the group to find fellow-minded geocachers to connect with.

A bit about me. I made the move from London out to Warwickshire to take a job as Deputy Technical Manager at a theatre in the region. I do everything from Lighting/Sound/Stage Management/Followspotting to the daily running of the theatre (which seats around 1000 people). It's a fast paced and ever challenging role where I have to stay sharp and on my feet at all times as the next trivial problem is only just around the corner!

I got in to geocaching back in 2010 when a friend of mine suggested finding one whilst on a school reunion trip up to the Lake District. Since I found my first one I had the bug and have got up to my 800th find in just over 3 years.

Moving to the area I don't know anyone around so have mainly been making friends with my colleagues and housemates so I'm looking for any groups or people around the Warwick District (Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford, Coventry) that meet up so that I can make some friends in the area through geocaching so any recommendations would be most welcome.

I've only just discovered this site so will explore a bit more to see what I can find.

That's me in a nutshell anyway so would love to hear from you.

Welcome to the area, and to CacheWalker, Tim  ;D

Would be nice to meet you at one of our events, sometimes they get small crowds, in one recent one we had over 50 cachers attend though... the next event is just near Cirencester in South Glos, although this is a drive from Warwickshire  :-\ However, I'm sure we'll have an event further up, and closer to you soon!  :)

Welcome to CacheWalker :) I am quite far from you being right down to the south of Gloucestershire, but if a CacheWalker event takes place towards the north of the region I will do my best to get up there to say hello.

Hi there and welcome to CacheWalker ;D

We have a fair mix of cachers here from quite a wide spread area and there are some here more in your neck of the woods :)

I'm sure there will be events or 'outings' that will be close enough for you to pop along, it would be good to see a new face.
