CacheWalker TB races / CacheWalker SuperBike Challenge 2017
« on: January 11, 2017, 05:19:58 pm »
This is the place for all discussion (unless you think your point deserves its own topic) for the
CacheWalker SuperBike Challenge 2017

The TB race will begin at 0:00 February 1st, and will end on 0:00 December 25th.
Participants are asked to attach toy motorbikes ('SuperBikes') to a Travel Bug. If you have trouble finding a SuperBike but would like to take part, let us know!

The Rules:

  • The race officially begins at 0:00 on February 1st 2017. However, TBs can be added to the race at any point after this start date.
  • The race is on until 0:00 December 25th 2017
  • The TB with the most miles on this date will be declared the 2017 Championship Winner at the 2017 Twixmas Bash (apparently there will be one!)
  • CacheWalkers may not move their own SuperBikes along.
  • Therefore, TBs must be dropped & collected by different cachers (if moved on by the same cacher only the FIRST jump will be counted).
  • The owner of the TB must not be present with the cacher who's moving it IF they both visit the same cache together for the drop.
  • 'Discover/Visted' logs do not count.
  • CacheWalkers can only have ONE TB each in the race (unless a couple/family are wishing to have their own).
  • If your TB goes missing YOU ARE OUT OF THE RACE - you cannot re-release another SuperBike with your copy tag as part of this year's race.

The official TB-run page for the race is now up and running here - CWSBC 2017

How to join the race:
Please email griffgrof@cachewalker.co.uk or Griff Grof via his profile with the public Travel Bug ID (TBxxxx), that you find on the 'Details' page of your TB on Geocaching.com. He will provide you with the password to join the race (which might be posted here instead if people want?)
There no limit for the number of participants.
Please note, you can only take part if your TB has a SuperBike attached to it! (Hopefully you can find one easily but let us know if you can't and we can mail one out to you!)
Therefore, you can still request to take part after the start date, but the sooner the better/further!

Please name your TB in this format: CWSBC 2017 - [your caching name]

Let the race (and discussion) begin - 3,2,1... GO!

Caching Events / CacheWalker Events - 2017

List of all planned/suggested CacheWalker Events - 2017

A thread to record all events planned/proposed/mentioned for this year, from any ideas, discussion and posts on this forum. The list will be promptly edited as and when is needed. Anyone wishing to hold a CacheWalker event other than us regulars can therefore see when would be a sensible time to organise one. Any notable Group Meets (with NO listed event) will also be listed.

This is a provisional list. 2017 is CacheWalker's 10th Anniversary year, so a varied 'CacheWalker hits 10' programme of events will hopefully take place! All events on this list (posted in Dec 2016) are ideas that have not been discussed (yet) amongst all members, so are subject to change. The list will be updated as plans are confirmed.

CacheWalker TB races / CacheWalker Race To Rio - 2016 TB race
    « on: January 06, 2016, 07:28:52 pm »
This is the place for all discussion (unless you think your point deserves its own topic) for the
    CacheWalker Race To Rio 2016

The race will begin at 0:00 January 9th, and will end on 0:00 December 25th.
This year participants have attached either a gold medal or a RAF tag to their TBs. The first TB to reach Rio de Janeiro, the location for this year's Olympic Games, and the TB which travels the furthest will be declared the winners! If no TBs make it to Rio, the one which got closest will win the prize.

    The Rules:

    • The race is on until midnight December 25th 2016 (i.e. any logs which Groundspeak dates 26/12/16 will be ignored)
    • The TB with the most miles on this date will be declared the 2016 Championship Winner at the 2016 Twixmas Bash
    • CacheWalkers may not move their own TBs along
    • Therefore, TBs must be dropped & collected by different cachers (if moved on by the same Cacher only the FIRST jump will be counted, regardless of 'Visited' or 'Dropped Off' log, any subsequent logs by the same cacher will not be counted
    • Discover/Visited logs do not count
    • The owner of the TB must not be present with the cacher who's moving it IF they both visit the same cache together for the drop.
    • CacheWalkers can only have ONE TB each in the race (unless a couple/family are wishing to have their own)
    • If your TB goes missing YOU ARE OUT OF THE RACE - you cannot re-release another TB with your copy tag as part of this year's race.

The official TB-run page for the race is now up and running here - CWR2R 2016

    How to join the race:
Please email griffgrof@cachewalker.co.uk or Griff Grof via his profile with the public Travel Bug ID (TBxxxx), that you find on the 'Details' page of your TB on Geocaching.com (please do not use the secret TB code that is printed on the tag) - you will be promptly added to the race.
There no limit for the number of participants.
Please note, you can only take part if your TB has a gold medal or RAF tag attached to it! (Don't worry if you weren't at Twinew but would still like to take part! Please let Griff Grof know as he has some spare RAF tags/medals.)
Therefore, you can still request to take part after the start date, but the sooner the better/further!

Please name your TB in this format: CacheWalker Race To Rio - [your caching name]

Let the race (and discussion) begin - 3,2,1... GO!
