I've found a bit of one for sale ;D

A rare autograph of the late Mr Tuddenham.

A Genuine Hand Signed Authentic 8" x 10" Photo.

Yet again I wonder why I purchased an ipad. They are completely inept at processing PQ's when trying to update my GC.com profile :-[

Now, to wrestle the laptop off Mrs TJ

Ooooooohhh. A proper keyboard, a proper size screen, proper connectivity.

I wonder if Mrs TJ will swap ::)

iPads, and all tablets, aren't intended to be computers - they're intended to be a convenient portable alternative with endless possibilities.

As time goes on,  things get done wirelessly more and more - who needs connection? How often do you actually connect stuff? Just like the DVD drive - how often do you actually use it? You don't really need it on an iPad.  ;) A proper sized screen? Do you need anything any bigger for a touchscreen? Proper keyboard? You can buy one to magnetically attach to the iPad  :D

Tablets, and iPad's can be anything you want them to be. Want to play some music? The iPad is an instrument. Want to edit some photos? The iPad is a tool. Want to take a photo? It's a camera. Want to read a book? It's a book. Want to draw or sketch? The iPad is a canvas.

I've had mine for just over a year now, and I can easily say that I have no regrets with spending some my savings on one  :D

ipad's are just toys :P - good looking toys  :D

I wouldn't call them toys. Maybe I should bring one to a meeting/event for you to see how useful and brilliant they actually are  :) They are also very durable - this one has survived several drops, including the floor tiles, and not a mark or bump on it  ;D

I wouldn't use it as a camera, not pocket sized.

I wouldn't use it to play MP3's on the move, to bulky.

It's to small to watch a film.

I use photo editing software and a mouse is the best tool for this and having a large screen so you don't keep zooming in and out.

Having not used a device without a real keyboard, I don't know what it is like for creating/editing documents/spreadsheets/databases.

Also the files need to be able to be sent to & from other people using other systems, so need to be in a standard format.

Yeah, but apart from those small problems.

(Couldn't get the 'quote' thingy to work this morning, probably me)

@Griff Groff.. I will have to poke xJammmzy to post on here and tell you about his Nexus. He seems to be on it all the time, though I am not overly sure doing what. Probably some thing to do with minecraft. I think it's a touch smaller than an iPad, but I don't have one in the house to compare any other features to.

@Bear and Ragged.. *amused* ;D I hadn't noticed that bit of humour on the fleabay page until you pointed it out :)

But what would you do if someone gave you an iPad as a gift?  :o

I would try it out and see if I can use it productively or find that it is a flashy toy?

I think I know the answer already  ;D

So far the only benefits over a laptop appear to be that I can be from turned off to on the Internet in 5 seconds and that it fits in a large pocket.
