Just checked ours. Pretty typical average for this time of day at home:

Download 6.21Mb/s
Upload 1.86Mb/s

We're on an old BT plan. Unlimited data at up to 20Mb download. I have seen it quite a bit higher than 6, but never reached that 20 mark.

Just checked our speed again now that we have satellite internet.

13.60MBp/s download  :)

A LOT better than the 0.5 MBp/s it was before  :o :)

Time for a new poll  :)

When do you think the UK will host a Giga event?

Do you think the UK will hold a Mega Event?

Yes> Probably be a Piratemania, seems to be doing well every year.  ;D

What has been the biggest Mega the UK has had so far - 2000+ ?

Does any one know?

It would need a draw, so something like Piratemania could do it but I think it will be a few years yet who ever holds it.

Yes, I think no UK Mega has had much more than around 2,000  ???

I read that next year's Geolympix were going to try to go Giga, but have decided against it since they might need people to pay to enter the venue to help with funding which clearly wouldn't be ideal.

Both Giga's I've been to charged to go into the main area. There was a log book to sign outside this area if you didn't want to pay.

Will add an option to accommodate all that  ;) ;D

Edit: you can vote for as many as you want and there's a 'something else' option  :)

Time for a new poll  ;D

Should reviewers follow set rules and not guidelines, in order to avoid any subjectivity?

Should have rules, as reviewers seem to have different ideas on the guidelines, which I've experienced, having had a cache rejected by one reviewer, only to have another reviewer not bat an eye lid over the issue the other reviewer rejected on :o

I agree, they're very subjective. I guess one example is the publication of CacheWalker events with a group walk beforehand - lack of consistency here as some reviewers don't allow it, others need convincing and some don't care at all! :o

After all, whilst they're 'guidelines', they are treated as rules. It would make more sense for them all to be clearer to avoid inconsistency.
