There's the added complication, that there is an Event happening at Imber on the 29th December and for those who don't know, Imber is on Salisbury Plain in the MOD firing Range, so is only open on a few dates in the year.

I am on call for work between Mon 30.12.13 through to Mon 06.01.14, so those dates are out for me. I will check other dates tonight with the missus.

Yes. Another reason not to do the 29th, it may as well not be on the poll (so many people will choose Imber over it, I can't make it due to sister's bday so there wouldn't be need in me organizing, TJ probably can't make it due to daughters birthday) I just didn't want to upset Wrighy by not including as that was the date he wanted  :-\

PLEASE if anyone wants to suggest other dates do, (also for this poll you can change your vote, so if a better date pops up you can change it to that!)

If it falls on the 29th, I 100% can't make it - but, as I said elsewhere, neither do I want to be an obstacle for the event, but now there are even more reasons for not being on that date...  :-\ :D

Voted the 22nd for now. It's not a Twixmas date I know, but it's the best one that is fitting in with me. 29th, as others mentioned, possibly may do Imber. 27th and 28th are looking ok for me at the moment.

This turning out to be very tricky - I can't make from the 24th to 27th Dec (inclusive) and 29th isn't looking good either.

I vote for the 30th Dec :)

A Monday? I'd happily do the 30th, don't know about anyone else, so I've added it to the poll... I've added the 31st too, purely because I'm supposing Wrighty doesn't work Tuesday's still?

A Twixmas event loses it's appeal when we start pushing for dates either side of it.This is only my opinion, but I think the 29th is spot on despite it clashing with an event which isn't really that close to us at Imber.
You can please some of the people...................etc  ;)

I agree with this 100%. The Sunday between Xmas and New Year is the traditional date for our "signature" event.

It is, but three organizers can't make it either... :-\

For what it's worth, I have changed my vote to the 30th.

I think we are going to find it impossible to please everyone so at the end of the day the people setting the caches and the event will have to agree on a date and the rest of us will have to like it or lump it.

Perhaps a meeting for all those involved or interested may be beneficial as we can have a calendar in front of us and talk it through rather than everyone just chucking in the odd date on these forums.

BUT I expect we will also struggle to decide on a date for the meeting as well.  ;D :-\

I used to be indecisive but I'm not so sure now

I think this is what will need to happen

You can be the boss if you want  :D ;D

I just think the 29th is the date that has the most issues related with it, but yet it's winning the vote by far  :o

It might be that we are asking the questions in the wrong order :o

Perhaps it should be:

1) Who wants to organise the event?
2) Who wants to organise new caches?

Assuming that no-one wants to do the whole thing.

Then, what dates are the organisers available, perhaps they do this 'off-line'.

Then, they post various dates that they both can make and we vote  :D

Yes!

I think we've said Wrighty is placing the caches. I'd like to help with organising again... BUT I can't make the 29th 100% :D

Perhaps I should make a new area to the forum and just let the respective people who want to be involved access it  ???

..... More thoughts on dates?

Do we want an area to chat more privately?  :)
