Wow, I didn’t expect them to take that sort of action :o

It’s good that they have though, as it sends the right sort of message. Hopefully people log it properly from now on.

It’ll be great to eventually look back through the logs to see all the positive efforts that have been made all over the world.

I see HQ have locked the cache due to incomplete logs or wrongly logged not following the cache guidance  :o

Will be unlocked Monday morning PST time.

Must admit, I noticed some logs without a picture or just a log not following the idea of the cache at all. I wondered what they would do, glad they have taken some action  :)

I made the error of adding it to my Watchlist a while ago, so there were hundreds of logs in my inbox yesterday  :o - I spotted yours :)

I nearly did that but thought of all the messages you would suddenly get!

I think that’s a great, and very unique, idea.

I made the error of adding it to my Watchlist a while ago, so there were hundreds of logs in my inbox yesterday  :o - I spotted yours :)

Not sure what I’m going to do to claim it yet... but this is the one cache that I want to find most this year.

Decided I would claim this locationless cache on the first day you could, 6th Feb 21 and make it my 9000th find  ;D 8)

The bus shelter near home has been in need of a clean for ages, in fact it's been bugging me, mentioned it to the Parish Council who should be looking after it but they weren't interested :o So I rolled up my sleeves and with some warm soapy water, got to it  ;D

Had some one directing me to bits I had missed  :D

It's great, unexpected news. Nice to know that there's a chance to find a Locationless cache this year, even if we don't bump into Signal at a Mega (https://coord.info/GC8FR0G).

I wonder whether more Locationless caches created by HQ will follow in the years ahead.

General Caching / Lockdown from 5th Jan 2021

Updated 04/01/21 - England - National Lockdown

England - The UK Government on the 4th January 2021 announced new National Covid 19 Restrictions which will come into force 00:01 on the 5th January in England. In light of these new regulations, the UK Reviewing Team will suspend the publication of new caches in England from 00:01 5th January. This suspension will be reviewed when the Governments advice changes.

During this period we will also pause the cache reaping process in England. Caches that have a maintenance warning will not be actioned during this period.

There is no immediate need to disable caches, but it is of course up to each Cache Owner. We see no need to lock all caches. Please remember that it is against the Geocaching guidelines to allow a cache to be virtually logged e.g. by photo (unless a Virtual Cache). Allowing these types of logs is against the guidelines and may result in a cache being archived where it has been allowed. If you disable your caches, without removing them, you cannot delete logs if the logbook has been signed.

For further information on the English Coronavirus Guidelines, please visit the Government Website here.

Please continue to refer to this page for the latest Geocaching Publication updates during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

General Caching / Re: O Rings for bison tubes

Sorry, Walktall - meant to thank you for the info re 'o' rings - we are now the proud owners of 20 'o' rings! Also 50 little 1.5ml tubes for putting in caches - if anyone needs any of these let us know and can send some on - we are unlikely to need them all!!!
