Some of you manage to put a hyperlink with the web address hidden behind some text.
For example when referring to a cache the text shows the cache name and when you click it takes you to the cache page. The only thing I seem to be able to manage is to have the web address showing.
If you understand what I am on about can you help me?
Currently if I look on the GC.com map fo my home area I can see a few archived caches that I have never seen before. For example I can see one in Evesham called 'Abbey Adventure - Evesham'. If I move down towards Tewkesbury I can see several round Alderton, one called 'Christmas Pudding'.
I am currently in possession of one of the Mega 2013 TB's which, apparently, give the location of a final cache. I have just had an email asking for the information contained on the TB.
Yesterday I did the QBS series http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=1ead995d-14d7-429f-a1bd-d3d20e00b4e1. I was really looking forward to it as the series has got 300+ favourite points . I cannot believe how ordinary the series was . The first 4 were on a road as well as a couple of the later ones. No. 13 for example which was just a large film pot stuck behind some ivy has got 28 favourite points
Is it me or should the favourite points just be for caches that deserve a special visit, rather than just a pot hidden in a tree.
I have inherited a magnet about the size of a small tea plate. I stuck it on a flat metal plate yesterday and I could just about get it off again with a rather large crowbar.
Now, there has to be potential for some sort of amusing cache with that sort of magnetism.
A post from Graculus on a Facebook forum, might be of interest to Simon......
Recently British Telecom contacted Groundspeak (who own geocaching.com) after an engineer had found a couple of caches inside phone boxes. BT said whilst they didn't want to discourage geocaching their engineers would remove any containers they found and asked that no more be placed. After discussion with Groundspeak the UK reviewers have decided that no more caches will be published which are in or attached to phone boxes. Any active caches currently in place won't be archived but we would ask owners to move them to a new location as soon as possible to avoid them being removed. Caches that subsequently go missing or are in need of maintenance must be archived rather than replaced or repaired. Please note that this only applies to phone boxes (of any type) operated by British Telecom and not to any operated by other telecommunications companies such Kingston Upon Hull Telecom, Manx Telecom, Jersey Telecom or Cable & Wireless (Guernsey). Nor does it apply to any of the old 'red' phone boxes that are out of use and may be owned and maintained as attractions by local councils or parish councils. For these normal permission would apply.
