Title: TB Scan Geocaching App
Post by: Griff Grof on September 05, 2016, 09:17:20 am
I've just seen this on Facebook. It's an app called TBScan Geocaching App.

It looks like it uses the camera in your phone to photograph the codes on TBs/geocoins and then collects them on the app and allows you to discover them all at once.

It's definitely available on iOS for iPhones, and maybe Android. Looks like it could be useful  :)

So what are the "In app purchases"?

Downloaded this app yesterday and tested it on a few of my sons new coins.

Find it a pain to try and re-read writing that's been rushed down at an event but this app lists the numbers ready for a mass discovering.
Had a few issues that it can take a while to read a number sometimes I had to give up even when the number was clear to see as it just wouldn't read it.

Currently as its free you can only do 5 at a time to do an unlimited number its an in-app purchase to upgrade its 3.99 so I might purchase it but only after a few more test runs on our coins to check it picks them up every time

I've dowloaded it.
Don't find too many TBs, but if I do find one I usually photograph it...
Just wonder if it IS worthwhile upgrading? Price is a 'little' steep.

My main thought is it will be used by the 'Icon' hunters and 'Numbers' crowd, as it makes things so much quicker and easier for them to get the coin/TB numbers and then log.
