Post by: Griff Grof on July 22, 2016, 06:56:17 pm
Has anyone received the email for Geocaching.com's first summer souviner?

Any tips or ideas on how to decode it?  ???

Yep - we've decoded it!  :P - very appropriate to George  ;D

The clue is the 'bluegrass' licence plate.......................

Didn't get it!  Setting in my personal details wrong, pity they didn't mention that certain ones had to be switched on...
Anybody tell me what it was please?

Hi - not sure what the problem was you have had, but have sent you the answer in a personal message - hope this is what you want.

Griff Grof - have you worked it out yet? Will send you the answer by PM if you would like us to  ;)

I haven't had time to look at it but that might be helpful!  :)

No problem - have PM'd you.

By the way - we are hoping to do your new loop either this week or next [weather dependent] - you mention in the info there are a number of stiles, but only a few are dog friendly - does this mean we will have to lift Tilly over several stiles or would she be bale to scramble through fencing etc? Thanks for any help.

Thank you, will PM you back later with info on the stiles  :)

So did you all get your souvenir this weekend?

Haven't logged them yet, but I found a few caches meeting the requirements  :)

Having got a back log of caches to log, it will be interesting to see if I get it by accident  ::)

Fingers crossed you get it  ;)
Have you worked the next mission out?

No, not worked out.

Me neither.

GC.com told everyone what you had to do shortly after everyone worked out the last one  :o

How odd - I wonder if you had to name the 'agent' and then find the cache with 10+ fav points to get it? ???

The second one is pretty easy.

The answer needs to be entered in all in capitals with no spaces.

Let me know if you want a hint (or the answer!)or what the 'mission' is.

A big thank you to Hogshunters for supplying me with the puzzles to work out for these souvenirs as Groundspeak told me about it but didn't send any emails containing the info!

Earlier this week they did, however, email me to congratulate me on completing the challenge (!) and offered to sell me some "Special Agent L8HNB" memorabilia.

Usual Groundspeak service then...

So far, I've only got the first one and this was by just doing some caching, as I hadn't worked out the mission.

I do wonder what souvenirs are all about and if we are seeing them being used more and more to promote GS and its form of caching.

I haven't worked out the one for this weekend.

Please don't say it's find a D5/T5 cache, I have a bad feeling!

I do wonder what souvenirs are all about and if we are seeing them being used more and more to promote GS and its form of caching.

People are obsessed with them. I didn't think they'd last when they were introduced. I suppose it adds something extra to the game and gets people out and about to earn them. I agree though.

To us they are just a bit of fun which also encourages us to have a go at different types of caches we probably don't bother with - like the D5/T5 ones [ and no GG that isn't the mission for this weekend!]

Big shout of thanks to Hogshunters for getting us all the emails that TPTB didn't - just found the necessary, and it was our first chirp, so happy bunnies  ;D ;D
Not fussed about souvenirs, or chirps for that matter, but they are a bit of fun and I liked the way you had to do easy puzzles to get the answers - although there are plenty of places to get the answers on 'tinterweb for those that are too lazy to do it - sounds like lab caches to me  ;)
And I met our old friends the Stag Ramblers as I was making my way back to the car and the sun came out  :D :D

Got it! After 12 hours sleep,  got the brain cell into gear, released Tilly from jail [ kennels  ;D] and found the required cache  :). Didn't know you got an extra souvenir for doing all three missions!  ;D ;D

I didn't find a Puzzle cache, there aren't any near to me that I haven't found and didn't have time to travel yesterday. I'm not a big fan of them anyway  :D

Nevermind :(

We aren't too keen on puzzle caches either - so I suppose doing these 'mission' does encourage you to do them! We have a couple near us - which we never bothered with so it suited us fine to quickly do one yesterday. Just lucky, we wouldn't have traveled far to do one.

The one we did was 0.8 of a mile from home  :D :D
As it was a chirp we were saving it to do with a friend but they were at a wedding so we went for it, looks like we'll be doing it again as they cache with a phone  :o :-\
