Title: Red Nose Day
Post by: Griff Grof on March 15, 2013, 05:42:21 pm
Who else is watching it tonight??

I don't think they've done a very good job advertising it this year, does anyone else agree? Half of the people don't even know that it's today  :o

Well, I have watched a little here and there this evening. I have just seen Ricky Gervais being.. Ricky Gervais. I can take him in small doses, and that was just enough :D

I am absolutely crackered after this week at work. I do not think I will be up to much this weekend. Any caching will probably wait until Monday when we head up to the skittles. I bid you all g'night, and however funny the red nose TV night may now become, I will probably fall asleep to my Empire Strike Back DVD.

We didn't have a clue what had happen or was happening in the World while there ;D

Wasn't till we were at the airport in Tenerife that we found out a new Pope has been elected :o

I did want the Internet for Geocaching and info on the Cable car but I had prepare for no Internet just in case and glad I had done :D

The tablet, a 10.1" Sanei N10 3G GPS with Android 4.0.4 was very handy as I had a good map of the island which I had calibrated so could use it to navigate round the island while we were out in the car and I could write up logs of found caches, so it was very quick to log caches when I got home, which I have already done ;D I also uploaded photos off my camera onto the tablet to review the pictures and Jill and my Mum could also look what I had been up to if I had been out caching and they had stayed at the villa ;D

Didn't bother with RND at all this year, bit hard to onyour own, and I had other things to do Friday night.

Walktall, if you have Android, you knowyou could have installed one of the free geocaching apps from play store like C:Geo and save all the caches on the island back in UK and take it with you, withot the worry of no internet.. :S

Not by a long way but was very much cheaper than an iPad but I bet comparable :D

I've looked at the specifications and yes, it is comparable indeed  ;D Doesn't look like a bad piece of kit  :)

Screen resolution isn't as good but that seems the only minus point against the ipad. But there are several plus points, makes me think I should have waited before buying.

It would be interesting to compare, as I've never 'played' with another other tablet :)

Will be interesting to see how the screen on the newer model compares to mine too, TJ (I have an iPad 2, bought before the Retina one existed  :o )

But yes, yours looks like it has some plus points, particularly the mapping/GPS one. If you have it tomorrow, would be nice to briefly see what it's like... I was hoping to use mine for that, but with no 3G (an extra £100 for a 3G model!!!) it wasn't going to work :-\
