Hello  ;D

Welcome to CacheWalker , btco  ;D

This is the online home to a group of cachers who prefer caching by byway, not highway! We discuss Geocaching topics daily, share walking routes, and a whole lot more! We're not particularly a regional forum, but most of our members are based in the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire/Warwickshire area, and we often hold events in that region too - we'd love to meet you at one!  :)

Feel free to contact a member of our forum team for help, or just post any questions you may have...

Enjoy  ;D

Thanks for the welcome walktall.

We havent returned to Rusty Pump v2 since the weekend.  Work and weather has got in the way but hopefully we will get there soon.

Made 3 attempts at the cache in total.

Tried to find it on first time on Friday night after work but it was so late and we didn't have a torch in the car gave up before we really started, made a proper go on Saturday afternoon from the Colesbourne side but on the old co-ords and ended up getting cornered by the cows who when we arrived in the field were near the east side gate but before we knew it they were on us and surrounded us and with 2 young boys in tow they were pretty scared as we made our escape from the field.

Third attempt was at 7am on Sunday morning because it had bugged me so much that I couldn't find it and sure I missed something (little did I know the co-ords were wrong) have slightly overcome the fear of cows they all converged on us again but stood up made ourselves big didn't panic and just went about our business and they got bored and went back to the east gate.

Was going to try on Monday evening with the new co-ords from Chedworth but light was fading and I didn't know the Chedworth side very well for parking so have given it a miss but its one that definatly on the radar just because of all the trouble its caused us

Re: Rusty Pump v2

If you come from the Colesbourne side, you don't have to go into the cow field, so perfect for your young boys.

On the Chedworth side, there is room for one car just before you get to the Toblerone Steps cache. I think it was where an old cattle grid passing point was. Be careful if you turn your car round right at Toblerone Steps cache at the field gates. The ground is soft and the road tarmac slopes down into the soft ground. I nearly got stuck as one front wheel (front wheel drive) went onto the soft ground.
