The Cotswold Lions Tour
« on: November 12, 2012, 06:11:37 pm »

A total of seven caches on route. 7 miles. Details about the caches here and park at N 51° 52.590 W 001° 49.069 for the walk.

A simply stunning walk, the unsung best series in the Cotwolds. From peaceful villages, to rolling hills and streams meandering through endless, gorgeous valleys. From fields, to roads, to tracks to woodland - a wide variety of terrain! A couple of hills, but the views are way worth it! This walk of caches is more about quality, not quantity - you'll see what people miss when they just go for numbers  :D

These are the directions, quoted from the cache pages:

From the parking head south down the lane, stay on the lane past Bangup barn and onto a track, stay on this track all the way to Turkdean.
When you reach the road in Turkdean go right and then left just before the bus stop,by the farm go through the right hand gate and stay on this track to you reach a gate signed No vehicle access,go through this gate and follow the path up to Downs barn,go past the barn and then left.
Follow the path with the hedge on your left and then go right on a well defined path across the field,at the crossroads of paths go right again and follow the footpath signs all the way to the road.
At the road go left and then right into Notgrove,in Notgrove go down the lane signed Manor farm,Glebe house and the church, just before the church go left on the Gloucestershire way and up to the gate in the top right corner, right through the gate and then left and walk the path lined with beech trees all the way to the road,at the road turn right and back into Cold Aston.

A must do! Simply superb, I know you're going to read this Wrighty, so let me thank you again for the excellent days walk! I must get more of yours done by the end of the year - no one beats your walks and caches, and The Cotswold Lions Tour is a fine example  ;D
