A very well attended event, good to put faces to names, good day all round really, picking up the 9 mix-tape tree climbs before the event, then a surprise with the Cuckoo cache. shame it was so wet towards the end. Looking forward to the next Cotswold event

Hope the village fete went well @walktall.

Nothing interesting today on my side. This thread is now moving to the 'General Caching' board  :)

Becoming seriously disillusioned with vodafone...

Go elsewhere!

I'm getting there to and I'm not even a customer yet :o But with no mobile mast near by and we've got a Vodafone Sure Single box already and their new Smart Ultra 6 mobile getting good reviews - this was why Vodafone. But I'm now seriously thinking on giving up on them.

What do you mean?  :o

Since 4th July I've been trying to buy a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 mobile. It's a new mobile and small Vodafone shops don't have it and it seems I can't order one at a shop.

So, use the Vodafone web shop, which I tried, several times to do :o
  • You get right to the end where their site verifies details with my credit card and it fails :o
  • So I got an on line "Live chat" person to go through the issue as I must be doing something wrong :o
  • An hour and a half later, I seem to have placed an order, well got a Vodafone order number. ::)
  • What the "Live chat" person got me to do, by a link, turned out to jump the credit card verification so Vodafone got no money and so I got no mobile  :o :(
  • It was several days and no mobile when I checked my credit card to find out no money had been taken, back to Vodafone :(
  • I tried their telephone number 08080... but you get caught in an endless loop by the auto system asking for my mobile number or account no - I don't have either, I'm a new customer :o :(
  • Another on-line "Live chat" asking what happened to my order and then asking for a number to call a real person and was given 191 :o :o >:(
  • I asked how was I going to call this number when I have yet not got my Vodafone mobile, were they not reading our "Live chat" >:( >:(
  • Got another number 03333 .... and another auto system that doesn't let you get through to a real person  >:( >:( >:( >:(
  • Cooled off, so thought I would try again today, even tried on my Android tablet. Web shop failed again right at the end  :o
  • "Live chat" again and went through the whole process because I must be doing something wrong :o
  • Bet you can't guess what happened right at the end - failed to verify  >:(
  • I was told it is an issue with their computers and the IT team are working on it ::) :(
  • I asked about talking to a real person but was told that they don't deal with PAYG sales over the telephone, go to a shop >:(
  • I needed to go to Cirencester day, so while there, tried that shop and was basically told I can't order one, go to a big branch where they may stock them >:( >:( ::) ???
  • PS: I now have about 7 login accounts for Vodafone, as one is created each time I tried to place an order  ::) ::) :o ;D

Sounds like you need some Live Chat to help sort it out, @walktall  :P :D ;D ;D ;D

What a nightmare! Hopefully you get it sorted soon. I've found that Three is good, although some areas around here have no coverage (e.g. Chipping Campden).

I had another mobile I was looking at but a bit more expensive, hence why I went with Vodafone.

Not any more ;D

I'm going to go with EE, especially as our village might get the mast that EE have planing permission for & not yet built.

They may now build it, as they got shamed on BBC Oxford the other day, a bit about poor mobile coverage in the Cotswolds and they got mentioned as they haven't built the mast yet. There may be someone you recognise who was on this piece  ::)

Missed your 5 minutes of fame @walktall, will have to see if I can find it online.

We use Vodaphone because the coverage around home and work is good., but there service, grr! Only just this week they increased one of my son's tariffs by £4 and changed the amount of contract data and talk time without any consultation with us. And when Tracy went down into the shop in town they said they couldn't do anything about it we would have to ring up. So she made them let her use their phone in the shop and gave them "what for" in front of all the other customers in there. It's sorted now, well at least for the moment.

I found three caches today. Haven't logged them yet. One of them the logbook was a bit of disarray, but the cache was otherwise in good shape. Where was I? Have a guess. Attaching a big clue I spotted.

Is that Missing Footwear, @Gackt?

A lot of choice with regards to where to sign your name, as the picture reminds me  :D

Didn't get a chance to find any today, as I had hoped to  :(

Yep, spot on. I actually went to go find Linda, one which has been on my list for long time. Missing Footwear was on route from where I parked, as I am sure you know. Also did King Arthur's cave. That was it. A long car journey for me, even though as the crow flies those caches are less than 30 miles away. But worth it. Haven't found many @SidAndBob caches, but the few I have haven't disappointed.

No caching for me the last couple of days.

I did something yesterday that I haven't done for over 20 years, rode a motorbike. xJammmzy bought this, and I rode it back from Melksham to home for him last night. Have to admit I was a bit shaky for the first few miles, haven't even been on my push bike for over a year.

Looks like a nice motorbike  :)

Could attach a TB to it and make it part of the CWSBC? - only joking  :D

Still no caching for me but planning to get near to 2,000 this weekend to finally find it shortly after. No idea where now  :o Our holiday was meant to be this week and the cache in mind would have been found. Unfortunately, will have to rethink.
