Went on a nice Boxing Day walk today, completing HKMHill's new series starting and ending in Ebrington. See E 1 - Post It for info.

It was a good walk with some great views. Some of it crossed over with parts of Wrighty's old Ziggy Stardust series. The weather was perfect, nice to see the sun again  :D. It was a little windy though... looks like a good dialogue about the wind is developing in the log book of one of the caches!  ;D :D

Yes it was a good walk and the wind was keen at that cache.

Lovely weather today so decided to go on a walk but didn't have time to do a longer route - most of the local series' we have left are 8+ miles. So we came up with our own route from Todenham. We parked at the Village Hall - the footpath starts right next to it!

A nice 4.5 mile walk with some good views in places. Interesting to see the sites of the Ditchford villages (diverting to Upper Ditchford) which were abandoned. Found the only cache on the route (GC5YHQW) along the way.

Maybe somewhere to consider for a future event?

Started -and finished- last year with a SideTracked cache. (Wasn't planned that way, it just happened!)

First cache found this year -today- was... A SideTracked cache!

We found Griff Grof's post on the new Ebrington loop, December 26th, very interesting.  We did this series of caches on Wednesday, January 4th, and luckily it was a lovely day and not too muddy.  We found a mystery cache hanging on a fence between E5  and E6 which we couldn't find on the geocaching map.  The contents were waterlogged so didn't bother removing them.  We contacted HKMHill but he couldn't help identify it.  Could this be one of the caches in Wrighty's  Ziggy Stardust series? George and Jenny.

Thanks Wrighty - mystery solved! We will let HKM Hill know as he was going to remove it next time he was round that way. We had a look at it and see it was archived in 2014!

I see monkeyhanger also spotted it and took a photo of the log and have also told Mike of its whereabouts.

Still keeping my FTF monthly run going and grabbed yesterday a new cache in Bourton, 88 months now :)

I was collecting some trees for Jill yesterday and as this was close to a train station for a quick hop into London, I then went into London as I wanted to find some of the virtual caches, especially the Sherlock multi-virtual ones that I've wanted to do for some time now.

I haven't yet checked my answers but hopefully found 1 to 5 of the Sherlock series (6 & 7 to do) and found five other virtuals, after a 13 mile walk to/from Waterloo train station :D

Managed two more FTF's this morning, trying to complete my year calendar with a FTF on each day - 99 days to go :o  8)

Guess who forgot a pen meaning that no caches could be found while walking around Rome  >:(  ::)

Completed a couple of Earthcaches though! (GC6PMXC was one of them)

Found a cache that was buried in the ground!!!

The top was visible (not under earth) but the cointainer was around a foot high so the hole was quite deep. You had to pull it out from the ground.

Someone didn't read the guidelines!! :o :(
