Birdie's Peach Jar Challenge 2
« on: November 23, 2012, 08:39:01 pm »
I have something in production  for Birdie's Peach Jar Challenge 2 but a question to all you potential voters.

What is your idea of a fun cache?

A traditional with an element of humour or surprise

An engaging multi

A multi with puzzles, challenging features and twists that will challenge you and probably take a couple of hours to complete.

Yes this is what I am thinking of but if it runs the risk of not getting enough votes then I would like to know which way I should go.:con

Feedback Please.

What ever I go for will be released on Christmas day in order to stand a chance of max voters,

Oo, never heard of this... Can you please clarify what it is, I'd want to vote   ;D

I think I like the sound of a multi with puzzles and twists along the way taking a few hours..  You could do a really fun one with a Christmasy theme to it too  ;D

"A traditional with an element of humour or surprise" <-- I think this, for that particular challenge / competition.

I say that because I believe you will get a lot more visits, and so more votes, than some other types of caches.

But for myself, my preferences are caches with a bit of a physical challenge, or walks to quiet rarely visited places.

I was thinking of having a go myself, but I don't have anything really clever in mind at this moment.

Due to my mental health issues wacky ideas and caches are something I come up with a lot and make reality (what ever that is) if you want help let me know. I am even willing to build crazy puzzle caches for others. Mainly because I have just about filled everywhere near enough for me to get to and am still building stuff with no where for it to go.

I still think I will go for the complicated one as I have a woods I can use and without giving too much away it will involve a puzzle filled multi that can only be done in daylight and part 2 will have to be done at night with a cunning twist at the end( Just because I am cruel and Nasty, )

Thanks SangueG for posting the link to the Challenge. I still can not get my head round technology.

I like engaging Multis but also have done some multis with several sections i.e. puzzles, a night section but these are near impossible for visiting cachers unless they are on holiday in the area.

I also like - dare I say it - Wherigos :o It's just a real shame groundspeak seems to have abandoned them in a state that is far from perfect :'(

I enjoy Wherigo caches too - as long as the CO has tested it properly  ;)  :D I agree that it's a shame Groundspeak has decided to put them aside for now... And not many people place them anyway, because it's such a complicated process. It would be nice if they put a bit more effort into cachers making them an easier process, and cachers playing them also an easier, and more fun, process  :o

Being only a simple Luddite. The technology for a wherigo  is beyond my understanding I would love to have a go at setting one up as they do sound like fun and Norwich only has one but have neither the equipment nor understanding to do so.

My better half is going to pick me up a jar from Tesco this morning. I've decided I will join the fun and hide one, but mine will not be published on Christmas day, probably be another week or so before it is.

There's a jar hidden in the Cotswolds now waiting publication ;D Hopefully it will pass without issues, although it looks I may have a bit longer wait than normal because of the time of year.

I have gone for a fairly easy hide of traditional type, to try to acquire a good amount of finds. And to try to boost the points a little for the 'fun factor' vote I have picked an interesting location.. well at least I think it is :D We'll see how it goes.
