One more letter... and interesting stats
« on: March 31, 2012, 03:53:10 pm »
Just felt at looking at my stats today, and it's surprising to see what challenges you've almost completed without noticing/trying.

For this thing called "Alphanumberic Cache name Challenge" I have found a cache beginning with every character... other than a "V"

Anyone know of any local caches beginning with such a letter?  ::) One away from completing the challenge....

More interesting things I saw in my stats

Well, when I went caching with Wrighty on 15th February 2012, look what we almost managed to do...

Yes - just a virtual cache type would have made us both (unless Wrighty has already) qualify for a few challenge caches, of which you have to find all the cache types in one day...

I know walk tall is working on this one, the Jasmer Challenge, but I wasn't - until today, I didn't notice that I'd already found quite a few...

Now I'll start trying to fill it all in!

I also noticed that my logs seem rather long...  ;) :D

Anyway, just thought I would share with you some interesting stats of mine, and some that I've been doing well in without even trying or noticing.

I may need one more letter (V) to complete the Cache alphanumeric challenge, but no where near to completing my cache OWNER alphanumeric challenge....

A quick serch of GSAK, for V caches 'sort of your way' reveals http://coord.info/GC1DQP4 and this one http://coord.info/GC12MGG by some cacher called wrighty.

NEVER be afraid of writing long logs!

Thank you  ;D

Vale View - how could I forget? Have plans to do that and the CacheWalker 5 during one long summer evening when my dad is off work - saving a few nearby series' for that (like the gnome-ads new 3 mile series)

Also, if you want to make a day of it, there is a series with a few 'V' caches based around this one http://coord.info/GC3E83X

I'm slowly working on 'Extremes' North, South, East and West.
(Check my profile, I have the 'Extremes' for every year cached.)

So far this year I've managed:
Most Northerly cache:  N 54° 35.380, Heads up! GC33JAG
Most Southerly cache:  N 50° 34.116, Old A30 Revisited - Bolventor GC1AR71
Most Easterly cache:  E 1° 29.710, church micro 1161 st johns saxmundham GC2BR0Z
Most Westerly cache:  W 4° 33.375, Old A30 Revisited - Bolventor GC1AR71

The most Southern this year (so far!) is actually a new record for all my years of caching!

Highest so far is Sweet Mountain... Cachewalker's visit to Snowden would increase that one.
Will have to see how things go closer to the date.

My AlphaNumeric Cache Name Challenge is complete ;D

Most Well Rounded Container Type Day is the same as yours Griff, 6 types found on a day, missed the virtual.

Jasmer Challenge - missing:
2000 - May, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct & Nov
2001 - Mar, Apr, May & Jul - hope to get three of these on 'route' to Mega 2012 ;D

My AlphaNumeric Cacher Challenge, I'm missing: 0,5,6,& 7

I can recommend Marrow Bone caches, I did a good series of theirs  ;D
