Regarding the "The "send message" feature is disabled because this email address has not been validated by the user" that's most probably down to the Groundspeak's free app sign up. It's something I wish they would sort out as I have been in the position before where I wanted to contact someone before but couldn't because of the same.

Imagine going to a bank and opening an account.
With a name that they know is not your real name, and they have no way of contacting you...

Yet they let you keep withdrawing money!
