That's a shame @gaz_zippy , will tweet a link to this post via our twitter.

For some reason GC.com won't let me log in right now, so I can't see where exactly it is - if no one offers, and it isn't too far away, then I guess I can look after it  :)

Also, surprised that I never saw the posts mentioning you've found all bar the bonus - well done - how close are you to your 1000th unknown find  ???

Griff, community maintenance would be great as the GC code and history can be preserved, but if it comes to it and it gets archived, then creating a brand new cache somewhere else in the county would be great too.

I am currently on 969 Unknown cache finds so another 30 to go, not sure when that will be achieved though, hopefully sometime in the next couple of months would be good.

Might be worth posting the same on geocaching.com UK forum and the GAGB forum also - kind of spread shot tactics!

I remember we had to wait for LQ:City (London) and LQ:Merseyside.  We actually met HazelS at LQ:Meseyside on our way to the final as she was replacing the missing cache that morning and wanted to make sure we found it  :D :D

Most of the series were well maintained over the time period it took us to get them.  I remember LQ:Oxon well as it was nearly dark when I found it (16:34 in a cold November) I only had a small torch and it stunk of Fox!  The views over the lights of Oxford were quite something though.  If I remember correctly there is quite a bit of scope for a replacement in the area.

Happy days!

We're hoping to pick off a few of the Scottish Quest while up there in July/August, fingers crossed.

PS.  Good luck with the 1k ? caches, that's really some achievement...

I may post it on there, but I'll give the CO chance to reply first, I just thought I would sound out the local forums members in case it does need a new cache setting up. I have been lucky that nearly all I have found have been in good order, needed to phone a friend at Essex as the co-ords are miles out and the spoiler photo was 6 years out of date and looked nothing like where the cache was, hint not relevant either, only other issue was missing numbers in North Yorkshire.

I'll have to have a look at the Scottish Quest, although not cached at all in Scotland yet so I think it may be a touch too far at present to take on such a challenge.

Finding it hard to pick up the unknowns now, having to travel much further and the quality seems to be diminishing, need to do some serious planning to find some nice walks and pick up the last 30 required...

Yesterday I picked up the final 23 mystery caches required to leave me on 999 finds, so now need to plan a visit to LQ: Final.

LQ:OXON - Garsington: St Mary is now fenced off, so this leg of the series is in serious need of some help, CO didn't reply to my email, but they have logged onto the website, 3 recent NM logs on this cache now, might be time for the NA unless community assistance can be found... anyone???

I saw you picked up one or two mystery caches the other day :D I was watching one of them and then clicked through your profile for the day and thought blimey! ;D Well done.

I am carless at the moment, otherwise I would offer to sort out. I am unsure when we will be sorted out with a vehicle. I notice that the cache owner says Mad H@ter, even though it clicks through to another owner now. in a couple of days he is helping host the A Wild (West) Christmas 2014. There is little chance of me going to it or any other surrounding events unfortunately, even though it is so close to home. But if anyone else is going there maybe they could ask him if he could sort it out, or prompt the new owner to do it?

Thanks, I also came quite close to h4ck3r, but I knew that one needed a fair bit of time allocating, so I need to plan another trip to do that one, and any other interesting nearby caches, above ground though ;-)

I have emailed phillimore clan who are the holding account for all mad h@ter and another geocachers hides, they own LQ Bristol, so I am hopeful of a reply from them.

Hopefully the cache will get sorted soon, else we may be looking for a replacement cache to be hidden, so it can be anywhere in the county then :-)

Had a reply from mad h@ter, he thinks that this one may get archived when he speaks to the current CO, but as you suggest @SangueG he is going to speak to other Oxon cachers to see if anyone can set a new one up, so watch this space :-)

Today I went up North and managed to find the final cache of the Little Quest, found it in first place checked too  :D

It is a very, dare I say, strange place, but I enjoyed my walk to the final also managing to explore the various 'things' along the way, at was also my 1,000th Mystery Cache, so as Hannibal would have said "I love it when a plan comes together"....

Yep, well done both!
L's sister lives near the final and we had walked there with them in the past not knowing that we would be back for a special mission  ;D ;D
So, what next?
