I just don't get it
« on: September 03, 2012, 06:24:42 pm »
Yesterday I did the QBS series http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=1ead995d-14d7-429f-a1bd-d3d20e00b4e1. I was really looking forward to it as the series has got 300+ favourite points  ;D. I cannot believe how ordinary the series was  :-\. The first 4 were on a road as well as a couple of the later ones. No. 13  for example which was just a large film pot stuck behind some ivy has got 28 favourite points  ???

Is it me or should the favourite points just be for caches that deserve a special visit, rather than just a pot hidden in a tree.

Yes, and funny how we commented on exactly the same pot in the tree, Wrighty  ;)

Parts of the walk were nice, but nothing outstanding. Just a relatively nice walk. The parts on the hills were nice, but most was in the farmland below, which wasn't as nice and just the norm.

I agree, and think people just give most of their favourite points just to say thank you, forgetting you can put that in your log. I award favoutite points for either a good location, a good cache, a good walk or all of them in one. Note how more than half of mine are on Wrighty caches and ABFTN too  :) I also award them for special caches, like the virtual Barcelona on the top of Mount Tibidabo, first virtual in Spain and a spot which you just can't describe in words!  ;D
