I think they're over reacting  :D

Looks like it, thanks for sharing that more informative article on the matter  :)

It really isn't good press for Geocaching, I'm just wondering how long it will be before there are widespread bans  :o (such as city councils, or even whole counties or countries demanding for caching to stop thanks to these issues which hardly resemble the idea and heart of caching :o )

People forget the true joys of caching are the ones tucked away in the countryside, on nice walks - these incidents paint it as a dash and grab treasure hunt, which damages our heritage...  :-\

Sometimes there is a good reason for a Virtual cache!

As found by yours truly.

Without any climbing involved!  :D

Why at Terrain 1 are cachers climbing drain pipes or even getting on to roofs :o

Why was a cache in this historic place been allowed in the first place :o ???

This, as already been mentioned, is the reason why Virtuals should be brought back. An interesting location but a physical cache shouldn't be placed there.

A multi is also a good option, surely there was something at the 'interesting' location to see, find some numbers, letters in a name or whatever then go to a slightly less muggle rich location to find the cache?

I have done a couple of caches in York, but I gave up after the two virtuals and a couple of trad's though, far too busy a place to be acting dodgy. I didn't even bother looking for the solved puzzles  :o

Good point, as long as there is somewhere close by not like GoogleCache Cross in Banbury, where you have to drive to the final location :o

Just looked at that one, logs suggest the final is 5.5 miles from the listed co-ords  :o

Maybe people were more choosy where they hid caches back in 2005 and it took 5.5miles to find a spot they were happy with  ;) ;D

Over the past couple of monthe, reading forum posts, here and elsewhere  :o I've come to the conclusion:

Anyone can do geocaching.
Not everyone gets geocaching.
