APE cache decision
« on: March 24, 2017, 12:11:18 pm »
It was a couple of weeks ago but this was the decision regarding the discovery of an archived APE cache.

A poll was run and (as a reminder) this was the outcome:

61% — Return and Reactivate
17% — Activate Once A Year
13% — Display at Geocaching HQ
9% — Traveling Artefact

Do you agree with the decision?

I personally would have preferred for it to be activated once a year and displayed at HQ for the rest. The cache type is now grandfathered and having one left in a location not near to somewhere as accessible as Washington/Oregon made for something quite special. I think it would have been better to see it as history and offer people the opportunity to log it as part of a Mega, as is done with Lab caches anyway. Also, if I found a container of a cache of my own that I thought was missing, I wouldn't contact a reviewer for it to be unarchived. I'd maybe hide it again as another cache!

What do you think?

Would be nice to go back and go through the tunnel on my own or just with a small group, so only having it available once a year wouldn't be good for me. Not sure when I'll get out that way, would be nice to go this September but don't think it would wash with Jill.
