That weekend is OK with me, I don't tend to like crowds so a weekday would be my choice.

But I will go with the concensus

I agree it'd be quieter, is this what we want or more cachers attending to chat to?  ???

 - Don't listen to the exact date I suggest anyway, as on two occasions my suggestion has been the one where it rains :o :(

Like that one!

CacheWalker gets sweeter ?

What are we thinking about picnic/no picnic for the actual event?

Reminder of possible dates:
Week-time - Thursday 17th, (or could do Tuesday 15th, as I think Wrighty has Tuesday's off)
Weekend - Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th.

If it's on the weekend, I think Jill will want to come along and two doggies :)

On the picnic, I would leave it that people do what they want; I think most people would at least bring a snack to have on top before heading off to cache or back down. You just don't know what the weather will be like, even if it's hot & sunny, there is no cover on top so you wouldn't want to stay too long.

That's good  :), I personally would prefer the weekend but understand what @tarmacjohn says, so will listen to the masses.

I agree with your comments on the picnic.
Think I'll take a look at the map later and choose a couple of routes we could do, with the official event at the top which others may access differently. Will try and pass most of the few caches  :D OR this route and this route don't look back, haven't checked whether they pass caches though.

Good point! Although won't the World Cup have finished by then? Could make some sort of reference to it being in legacy of it, though!  :D

I'm happy to carry on sorting out nitty gritty details and go on to do the event page etc, but, admittedly, I have never been there and so if someone else wants to take over with their greater knowledge then that's fine too  :)

Just realised, Sugarloaf is National Trust... Will Groundspeak want proof of permission  ::)

There is another car park here: 51°50.622'N, 3°02.002'W, that I've used the most but this is a little smaller than the other were you found routes go from.

Or this one on the northern side of Sugarloaf: 51°52.47'N, 3°01.78'W, I've not used this one.

Yes.

19th July probably sounds the most favourable. Is it going to rain that day?

That's great @walktall , thanks for doing that!
@tarmacjohn , I hope it doesn't rain! At least you had the final say and not me, the last two times I have it did indeed rain (Birthday picnic 2012 and Twixmas 2013  :()

Let's all suggest/comment on more names:  ;)
CacheWalker gets sugarloafed
CacheWalker goes sweeter than sugar
CacheWalker on Tour: Sugarcandy Mountain
CacheWalker on Tour: Sugar, Sugar
CacheWalker does a mountain

Does anyone know if there has been a YOSM on Sugarloaf before?  ???
