Don't worry, at least they're all sorted now  :)

They've said no to most CW events on the first review, so it's happened to all of us  :D - the wording of the pre-event walk needs to be particular - was that what they picked up on  ???

All four of my events were initially turned down for a petty perfectly reasonable reason

Mostly that, also we got the region wrong as I (wrongly) assumed the cache up the road was in the correct region and just copied that one - whoops!

Groundspeak have a different map to the real World  ::)

My last Event was published right on the line, due to a difference of opinion  :o

ok - The Reviewer is Professor Xavier

- he wants all reference to the pre-event walk removed from the listing (I put the walk at 10.30, event 12-2.30)
He is unhappy with a raffle - wants it made clear about where excess funds would go. He hasn't said anything about bacon rolls so presumably happy with those!
So, if I need to cut the walk - shall I just post it on the forum and cut the raffle out altogether? Hopefully we'll make enough for the hall hire from bacon rolls? If We do that , we could advertise the walk at 10.30 on the forum, I could also email attendees and amend the event to start at 10.30?

Comments please!!!!!

You could argue your point and show him a previous event where it was OK, such as one of mine http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC3AM53_cachewalker-butchers-bash-2012?guid=75d9212d-f0e8-4bac-86f5-25fbdd0b33a4

Or you could (probably the best option) change the listing as requested and just put a link to the CacheWalker forum as a note once published

Or you could be really naughty and change the listing once published, but you run the risk of certain death from the Geocaching henchmen.  ::) :o

@strongsRus - don't remove the walk or the raffle! Do what TJ says! (reference other events)  :)

There should be no issue with the walk as long as you have clearly stated that it is a pre-Event walk and is optional.

The raffle - they seem to be getting very finicky over things to do with money, best not mention it in the description and sort it out after its published.

DO NOT put a link to CacheWalker forum as this will stop it getting published. As the CacheWalker forum is a free site, it uses adverts which is a big no no for Groundspeak. You can certainly mention CacheWalker and use the logos, just no URL link.

This is what I had in my last Twixmas Event 2013 where we hired a hall:

About the walk:
Quote
09:45 meet for a 10:00 depart for the CacheWalker group walk
As with all classic CacheWalker events, there will be a group walk beforehand - To coincide with the event, a new series of Wrighty caches will be released (aren't we lucky?!) The walk is 4.5 miles long; please bring a change of footwear to keep the venue clean, there will be the odd muddy patches.

12:30 to 15:00 - The event, Adlestrop Village Hall, Adlestrop
Once we return from the pre-event group walk, the big event will begin in Adlestrop Village Hall....
.
.
.
.
If you won't be joining us on the pre-event group walk, we have the hall booked from 10:00 and as.....

About the Raffle:
Quote
Santa's Raffle
In order to help fund costs for the event, a raffle will be taking place. If you can bring along a wrapped gift, ideally Geocaching related (that you would want to receive!) that would be great. On arrival, please put your wrapped gift on Santa's Raffle table. THEN DON'T FORGET TO PURCHASE A RAFFLE TICKET.

If you want to play safe, remove the raffle and use announcements once the Event is published :)

I copied the 2013 wording almost word for word and they weren't  happy with it, I hope it's ok now!! My life's complicated enough!

Well that is just ridiculous >:(

This has been a complaint of cachers, that reviewers are not consistent. Did you point out that the wording was from a previously approved/published Event?

Updated as grammar police caught me out ;)
