Who's going?

For how long?

I hope to be there for Devon Mega day but still not sure as we haven't booked our holiday yet  :D It's a nice area, and they've got a good range of events lined up.

Anyone thinking of going to Piratemania beforehand?

I wasn't originally going to Piratemania 10 but I am now, going on Saturday and camping for two nights. Hope to finish off The Somerset Well Rounded Cacher, as I completed the task 2.5 years ago but haven't been down the hole to find the cache. I checked it out about a year ago and decided I needed to come back with some proper gear.

Then I'll be going to South Wales on route to Devon :o Need to complete a few of the Counties to at least 10 finds in each and I got five to do, two with 3 finds one with 6 finds and two with 8 finds. So camping near Abercarn for two nights.

Then I'm off to Devon but I've got a spare night to stay somewhere, as I'm not due at Devon Mega till Thursday. I'll leave Devon Mega for home late Sunday.

So, hopefully should be a good trip, finding some old caches on route as well  ;D

Have sorted my spare night - it's from South Wales to a camp-site at Tintagel :)

From there I go to Devon Mega via Torbay :)

I couldn't go to Devon last minute, absolutely gutted. I was really looking forward to it.

How were the Mega's?

The Devon Mega was really great - lots to do and see - the Devon team really put on a good show.

Sorry you couldn't make it Griff grof - you missed a good 'un!

I had a soaking tent to pack on the 2nd in South Wales :( but completed all my counties there now ;D Early on the 1st at 3:20am, I was woken by my pots being rattled  :o ??? Got my torch and unzipped the inner sleeping compartment, to see a fox cub in my tent :o 8)

Had a driving drizzle bleak walk on Dartmoor on the 3rd, on route to drizzle and strong winds at Tintagel.

Devon Mega was good, beautiful site. I was in the 'quiet' section of the camp-site, near the marquee (which wasn't quiet). Ticked off all the caches except one that I wanted to do, so was a very successful trip round the country ;D

Sounds like you had a great time! Funny story about the fox cub!

Did you go to Piratemania in the end as well?

Yes made Piratemania :) i.e. two days at Cheddar, then two days in South Wales, few hours on Dartmoor on route to an evening and morning in Tintagel area and then three days at Exmouth, going via Torbay (a few hours there).

And then I drove home on a non-motorway route collecting virtuals or old caches. So all worked out very nicely  ;D ;D ;D

Yes, I noticed that there's a surprising number of Virtuals in the wider area! There's even a Webcam!
