Right first things first.

Before planning walks and hiding caches etc we need to know for certain that Adam is happy to have us etc etc, then we can go from there.

Now agree it needs to be the anniversary date and a walk to precede the event. As i think i said to you Griff there is a excellent wildlife walk two miles long within the grounds with info boards which would be ideal for a good multi.

Right other thoughts.

If we do get the go ahead this has the potential to become something special.

Lots of room and parking, toilets, camping on site.

Adam himself could officially open the event.

Think we need to form a committee and meet up somewhere to discuss ideas, plans etc.

I will get talking to Adam very soon then  :)

He should be OK with it, as it would give the farm park lots of publicity... That's what my dad says about it, anyway.

As i think i said to you Griff there is a excellent wildlife walk two miles long within the grounds with info boards which would be ideal for a good multi.

Yes, you did mention that to  :) Isn't that within the farm park though? Wouldn't that mean we had t get people to pay to go in?

Let's leave it at this, I will sort out all the basic stuff for now, and keep you posted here...

Yes, agree with this, Adam could be busy, but we could try.

I just think that we should keep it like a CacheWalker though - walk with caches, and a good picnic after with stuff going on at the event.

It has enormous potential to grow, and this is just the early stages. We need to get this right, so a committee would be a good idea.

No need to pay when we did the walk a couple of years ago.Made some enquiries and was told the walk was available all year round.

I am happy to be on a committee if required. As has already been said if we get a go ahead from the farm park this could turn out to be a rather large event, so we need to be sure it is what we want before proceeding too far.

Yes, I will post what I think it should be here in a bit, you get posting in the meantime, so we can combine them and have a rough idea for me to pitch to Adam.

Then, if we do get the go-ahead we can sort out the rest.

Agree there could be a big turnout, so we can't mess it up, and need to have a rough idea this early in time.

Get posting with yours.... Mine coming in a bit....

23rd Fine with me  ;D

Think that Sundays are better anyway, as people can come and camp the night before.

Will see what Adam thinks about the 30th (shame if it wouldn't be the exact birthday date) but having a look at past food festivals, they take up lots of fields and the car park + fun ride = too busy for my liking.

So, is everyone OK for 23rd?

Here are my own ideas for the event, feel free to post yours/comment. I think we should have rough ideas, so I know what to tell Adam we'll be doing, without going back and changing things... here it goes...

I think we should meet for the group walk first. Then go around picking up new caches as a group. Distance/where can be sorted later.

Next, we arrive at the location allocated for the picnic. There could be some new caches, also, in the area, such as the wildlife walk multi if we don't do it as a group, so people have the opportunity to go during the event to explore a bit more.

The usual geo-chat at the picnic, have some CacheWalker birthday cake, and other stuff going on such as a huge birthday alfresco raffle, and perhaps something like "Secret Santa"? Anyway, all that can be decided later.

What do you think? Is that alright for a very basic plan? Perhaps we could have other stuff going on as well ?

Let's have your thoughts...
