A log book is optional on Events!
« on: June 10, 2013, 10:22:14 pm »
When did this happen?

Quote
III. LOGGING Guidelines: Logging Guidelines cover the requirements that must be fulfilled in order to log a find.

An event cache can be logged online if the cacher has attended the event. Event cache owners can request that cachers sign a logbook, but this is optional and cannot be a requirement for logging an event cache.

So, you could effectively log any Event you wanted to :o :o :o

Happened 'a while ago' but think I'd still like to sign a log of some description!

Hmm, yes, I read this a few days ago and thought WHAT  :D

Guess it's good for newbies (or even novices!) who forget/don't know there is a log at events. Just got to hope it doesn't encourage people to skip signing logs in actual caches though  :o

Other than Griff Grof's newbie scenario, why would groundspeak change the guideline to that? I find that weird. A sig in a log book is the proof of attendance, as the sig in a log of a trad cache is a find. As walk tall said, you can effectively log any event you wanted, and the event host could not contest it. Seems ridiculous to me unless I am missing something?

Mega Events you still have to sign a log book - nothing like consistency :P
