Looks like Tower Bridge cache could be missing   >:( Two consecutive DNFs now...

If so, what do people think are the rules with re-entering a new bike with a copy tag? Or will I be disqualified, as in game over until 2014  :o

I thought the rule was only one bike each.

Quote
1) The race is on until midnight December 25th 2013 (i.e. any logs which Groundspeak dates 26/12/13 will be ignored)

2)'Riders' may not move their own TBs along

3)The Rider with the most miles on this date will be declared the 2013 Championship Winner at the 2013 Twixmas Bash (apparently there will be one! )

4)Virtual drops will not be counted - TBs must be dropped & collected by different Cachers (if moved on by the same Cacher only the first jump will be counted)

5)'Discover' logs will not count for Cacher count

That's all the rules  :-\

I suppose you're right  :D, and if other people agree... I guess the best I can come is 2nd now  :'( :'( :'(

You've still got time to enter the race with a new bike and a new tag. That's allowed isn't it? And still possible to win with, although you would have catching up to do.

Less allowed with a new tag!  :o That would mean I had TWO bikes in the race, which is definitely against the rules... I think Mrs/Wrighty did put out their bikes copy tag once the original went missing ???

If I was to put it out with the copy tag, I'll have to deduct the mileage drop from London to whatever cache I place it in - so say the bike had 500 miles, and I placed the new bike with the copy tag in a cache 200 miles away, the TB run would add that 200, but I'd just deduct it off at the end, so it'd be as if it never went missing  :)

So 2 votes against releasing it with a copy tag so far...  :D

One of mine won't take much catching up with.

:o - if YOU have two bikes you're breaking the rule #6  :D  :o - unless it's Mrs TJ's, that's fine, as you only have one (of your own)...  ;)

More and more DNF logs pouring in - my bike is gone  :'(

Mel's is now with Willow Wisps in Peru, clocking up nearly 6000 miles - BUT it breaks a rule:

4)Virtual drops will not be counted - TBs must be dropped & collected by different Cachers (if moved on by the same Cacher only the first jump will be counted)

So does this mean that, as it was a virtual drop (which TB run shouldn't even be counting, but it has  :o) and it was the first move by the cacher, does that mean those miles don't count?  :o - ouch!  :-\

As the first jump was from Portugal to Peru, that is the one that counts.

Just as it says in the rules.

4)Virtual drops will not be counted - TBs must be dropped & collected by different Cachers (if moved on by the same Cacher only the first jump will be counted)

- The TB was Dipped (virtual drop) and is still in the hand of the cacher
- as you said it was their first drop, but as that was a dip, does it count?

Thus returning to my original question on whether all those miles should be counted or not  :o  :-\ (We must remember no other dips have been counted and added to other bikes totals,  so, again, don't know why TB run has added it to Mel's - it's set not to count them!  :o)

In other news I think we should say once a bike goes missing it can't re-enter into the race until next year - poor me!  :'( does everyone else agree?

Edit: TB run adds mileage from the first dropped or visited ONLY of each cacher. But does that agree with our published rules?  ???

I might be the newbie here, but it doesn't go against the rules IMHO because why make the person drop off, and then pick up which is more work, when ONE dip is the same thing? I'm all for them to dip only once, but to then drop off.

Sorry to hear that Griff.
