4)Virtual drops will not be counted
- TBs must be dropped & collected by different Cachers
(if moved on by the same Cacher only the first jump will be counted)

Should really be called a 'Visit' or 'Dip'
A Virtual Drop could be a drop made from your armchair, never having been to the cache in person...

I know that that doesn't help the discussion much!
But do realise that you are after cachers to Drop the TB in to a cache as soon as possible, rather than keeping hold of it and dipping it in several caches.

As for a comment on the situation, maybe ONE dip could be allowed?
I have a Geocaching problem...
Work gets in the way!

Yes, maybe it should be altered to the first drop/dip will be counted?

My penny worth of Virtual dips:

TB's are in a race and must be moved on from one cache to another by different cachers. This is impossible to do on a Virtual, as there isn't a physical place to leave the TB.

So, no to Virtual dips and if the cacher who holds the TB hasn't dipped it into a physical cache before this Virtual, then it's the next physical cache that counts - dipped or dropped.

Umm, could someone please clarify, is this discussion about TB dipped in a Virtual cache or TB being dipped in any cache?

In some ways both but started due to a drop in a Virtual which effectively is a dip, as another cacher can't pick-up the TB from a non-physical cache and there is the question, did the cacher actually visit the site of the Virtual? Some Virtuals can be done from the comfort of an armchair.

Ah fully understandable! IS there anyway of finding out if they also grabbed any other physical caches on the same day nearby or if not then disqualifying that dip?

So, the moment of truth... Should it be counted or not? Post your vote!  :)

IMHO:

Dipped in a virtual cache, say in another country without any evidence of any other local caches visited and then brought back, No.
Dipped in a virtual cache, say in another country then dropped off in another cache nearby to that virtual, Yes.
Dipped in an actual cache Once, but then taken on to another local cache and dropped off, Yes
Dipped in several actual caches, but then taken on to another local cache and dropped off, Only the first dip.

The Grizzly's bike has now taken my third place position, having clocked 4000 miles  :o

In other news, Tower Bridge cache is active, having been replaced - and all TBs (6 of them, inc. mine) gone  :'( :'( :'( - if TJ had made it to the bridge initially  ::) :D

Our Superbike was named 'Grizzly's Prates'  as it had a GC founders pirate dogtag, it's now in 'Prates of the Caribbean' in the Caribbean. Hope there are enough cachers out there to pick it up.
