Suggestions and improvements for the site
« on: April 12, 2012, 10:04:03 pm »
This site is about to celebrate it's 50th day  ;D

But we're still trying to improve it, and make it the best that we can! Nearly everyday I add/tweak something around on here.

This sticky is for all suggestions you have to make the site (and forums) better! Please all join in and try to suggest something, the amount of things we can add to this is amazing - what would you like to see?

I hope this thread will become a good collective source of all ideas and suggestions you have, for us to try and add to make your experience on here more enjoyable...

Also, feel free to post any ideas for new BOARDS (such as existing "Caching events" "General Caching", and even this one "Help and info" etc) with more boards, we can get more discussion going, over a wider range of topics.

Can we have a sliding bar on the Recent Posts on the Portal page?

I found I had missed some replies in some of the forums, even though I also used the old Forum page because if I had gone directly into a Forum from Recent Posts e.g. "Where in the world", then that Forum i.e. "Just for fun" becomes marked as "No new posts" even though I hadn't read the new post in "The song game".

Looking like we will *maybe* be able to add this this weekend, though it's not for sure!  ;D ;D

Griff with the new picture the text "Be sure to vote on our poll!" reads "Be sure to vote on our     !". This happen to other text placed there that the last word is white, e.g. "Get rid of the ads on this site    "

Thanks for letting me know :)

I noticed it this morning just after making the change, but didn't have time to correct it.

Am busy tonight so may have to wait until tomorrow :)

This is what I've got and as you can see, a lot of white writing difficult to read:

Right, all should be more and less sorted.

Text easier to read?

We will remove the User Info but it was @Altra who did it and I will never now how as when I remove all the div.user code in the header nothing happens  :o

Had a bit of a breakthrough with this though - half the CSS code was missing - no wonder the layout was messed up - a quick copy and paste of the second half sorted everything and so it's officially not Christmas on the forum any more!

PS - I see the snow pic now  :)

Has been a while since we've asked this.

Any suggestions/improvements we can make to the site?

If you're following us on Twitter, you'll have heard us teasing about an exciting announcement soon.
Watch this space!  :)

Yes, that's not how it's meant to look. I'm seeing it like this on my iPad too.

The brown is meant to extend out until the logo ends. It does look better when you see it like that.

Will try to fix it ASAP.

It is meant to look like this:

This is on a 13" screen, on a 15" it is shifted even more to the right, as intended.

Could remove the background and fade or simply extend it, but then that's more of the photo covered for those with larger screens.
